The background

Strategic planning is a tool to establish priorities, set goals and align the community around a shared vision. UF’s previous strategic plan, developed ten years ago, set UF on a course to joining the nation’s best public universities. We entered the Top 10 in 2017 and are ranked 7th in the U.S. News rankings. Provost Joe Glover, head of UF’s academic enterprise, in September initiated a process to draft a new UF academic strategic plan, with a new aspirational vision and goals.

Two committees drive the effort. The Drafting Committee, composed of faculty members and academic leaders from across UF, is gathering input from the UF community and composing the plan. A Policy Committee of UF vice presidents and deans oversees the efforts.
